Artwork by Kristin Kowalski chosen by Arts Commission for public display

Congratulations to Kristin Kowalski, our Middle and Upper School art instructor, for having her artwork chosen to appear on a signal box in downtown Toledo.
The Arts Commission organized the competition as part of a multi-year project to cover boxes throughout Toledo to aesthetically enhance the pedestrian experience. (The boxes contain the control equipment to run nearby traffic lights.)

Using the competition's theme of flora and fauna, Kristin digitally created images of flowers from some of her ceramic sculptures. Her artwork was translated into a vinyl wrap, which now encases a box at Summit and Monroe streets near the Owens Corning headquarters.

This project's latest phase covered 18 boxes in the downtown business district.
